We know testing can feel a little nerve-wracking but don’t worry! You’re allowed to use a few helpful tools to make sure you’re prepared and confident when you launch your SmarterProctoring exam. Below is a quick guide to what’s approved during your exam session and a few tips to help you get ready.

✅ Items You’re Allowed to Use

Scratch Paper

You may use blank scratch paper to jot down notes, outline ideas, or work through math problems.

  • Be sure to show your scratch paper during the room scan at the start of your exam.

  • Once your test is finished, please tear up or discard your notes to maintain test integrity.

Notes from Your End-of-Course (EOC) Review

You’re welcome to have your EOC Review notes nearby while testing.
These notes are designed to help you study and recall key concepts you’ve already learned  not to look up new information.

Tip: It’s a great idea to organize your notes before launching your exam so you can quickly find what you need.

Calculator (for Math Exams Only)

A basic calculator may be used on math-related exams.

  • Online or handheld calculators are both allowed.

  • Be sure to close any additional browser tabs if using an online calculator (the proctoring system will flag open tabs).

Pro Tip: Be Prepared

Before starting your exam, make sure to:

  • Have your notes, calculator, and scratch paper ready.

  • Clear your desk of anything else not related to the test.

  • Take a deep breath you’ve got this!
